What a difference a week makes! Conditions here were absolutely horrible during
the time I was on. Had many other distractions but everytime I popped by the
shack
I tried to work a few. 20m opening was very weak during the 1600-1900z. Late in
the afternoon around 2300z signals to England picked way up but there was only
one station to work.
The 10m openings were to the usual zone 8 areas but a couple VE stations were
logged via backscatter.
Some excellent signals from VK/ZL on 15/20/40m late in the evening 0600z.
80m was a total wipeout here as a new noise with 20 over 9 hash across the
entire band started sometime in the last week. Not a single signal of any mode
CW, RTTY or SSB could be detected. Not good!
Hopefully next year I can devote more time to this one.
