                    CQ 160-Meter Contest, CW

Call: AA9DY
Operator(s): AA9DY
Station: AA9DY

Class: Single Op Assisted HP
QTH: Westford, MA
Operating Time (hrs): 9

Summary:
Total: QSOs = 164 State/Prov = 46 Countries = 16 Total Score = 31,186

Club: Society of Midwest Contesters

Comments:

Being near the Big Pond helped my propagation to Europe and Africa with my
peanut whistle station. Worked 16 countries in the 9 hrs vs 3 countries that I
consistently worked in the past few years on any given 160m contest, when
compared to my previous QTH in the midwest and using same station/antenna.

Countries worked with after doing an emergency repair of my inverted-L wire in
the freezing cold were...

Bermuda, Canada (NB, NS, ON, BC), Netherlands, Curacao, Poland, Austria,
Scotland, Ireland, France, England, Portugal, Madeira Island, Azores, Germany,
Bahamas, Croatia

Regarding the states, I missed Hawaii (heard'em, but couldn't get in, very
weak) also missed AK, ND, SD, LA, MS, NV, WA. I think I have worked some of
these in the other recent 160m contests except HI and AK. I know that ND was
out there S&P'ing; I heard a station work Dwayne/KD4POJ in Minot.

Had to enter as Single-Op High Power because I operated assisted, although I
was only running 100W. I guess rules are the rules. I was in this contest to
rack up my country totals on 160m anyways...
