Comments:

Forcasted storms did not materialize but the wind did.  So noise was tolerable
except for 1000z to 1200z which was quite noisy.

I think the ice storms took their toll on activity this year.  Many New England
and upper midwest stations missing.  Q's were down this year from last (615 to
523) and Europeans were down in my log (45 last year to 30 this year).

I heard my first JA in this contest-JH4UYB but he was struggling with west
coast q's so I didn't stand a chance.

Was surprised that a double extended 40 meter zepp fed with open wire line for
the second radio transmit sometimes seemed to work better then a 1/4 w
vertical!!!   Several W6's did not hear me on the vertical but did on the 40
meter zepp.
