Comments:

I was able to piece together a tribander on Wednesday and Thursday before the
contest and get it up on the 40 ft. tower late Thursday night. It doesn't look
very nice, but it seems to work well. With a full day of work Friday, I decided
to bypass the start of the contest, get some sleep and wait to start in the
morning.

Saturday was a lot of fun on 20 meters. Running high power for a change makes
it a little easier. But by Sunday late morning I was getting a little bored
with the single radio/single band thing so decided to watch football and NASCAR
instead. I practiced using the second VFO to hunt multipliers when the run
frequency was slow, but man... that's a lot of work - harder than SO2R! hi I
had some goals, like 1000 Q's and 30 zones, but that didn't happen because of
all the time off I took. Missed a lot of states like GA, TN, WY, MT and MO.
Seemed to be plenty of DE, ND and NV stations. The only multiplier I saw that
I didn't work was 7Z1SJ. He was very weak and the pileup was unruly. I had a
lot of success running the low end of the band down around 14050-14055 kHz.
Missed a lot of the Asian zones like 22, 23, 24, 26, etc. TF3AM was a real dog
fight for zone 40, but finally did break the pile. That was fun.

Thanks to everyone for the contacts and the well wishes received during the
test.
