Comments:

Interesting contest. After last year's contest, I decided to do something
different this year.... and try for the Low Power record held by my buddy KK9A
operating at VP5J back in 1999 - 6.011m

Good start... 310 the first hour... then it was all down hill from there... 2nd
hour was 98... no more "big" hours til the last hour.... which was 263.

After the 22 hours last year, I had 5871 Qs... which is exactly how many I had
in the 48 hours of this entire contest.

I lost my voice at 0555z Sunday. I knew I was in trouble at around 0200z when I
was really having trouble getting words out... and at 0550z, I found 8P1A on
160m and told him that I was throwing in the towel... or tried to tell him
anyway... I was having trouble getting that out. I had to stop talking for a
while and hope that my voice would come back. After my last QSO at 0557z, I
literally was unable to talk. So I crashed.... woke up at about 0900z... still
was having trouble... so I went back to sleep. Woke up again just before
1100z... and was able to get about 80% of my words out.... so I continued.
Thanks to a good last hour, I was able to just sneak by the record at around
2340z. Seems as though I broke it by about 60 Qs... hope my UBN is good. Wish
I could have operated my usual 46.5 hours instead of just 42... I'd feel a bit
more comfortable about the record holding.

Great to see that VY0 was apparently active... was that VY0QL? I think that
FY5KE is the first station to ever get all 63 mults? Many have gotten 62...
has anyone ever gotten 63 before? Great to see activity from Joe - VE8JL (and
his partner in crime VE8WD) and Garth - VE8NSD! I certainly hope that they
will be active in future contests! Good to see VY1MB and VO2NS/VO2WL active
too!

Fantastic job by 8P1A!! Congrats on his apparent victory... his first one in
this contest I think. Way to go Tom!!!

Anyone know how 8R1K did... and if that was OH0XX behind the mic?

One thing that never ceases to amaze me... these Rag Chewers who have their
regular Sunday skeds on a freq that just happens to be 300hz away from your CQ
freq.... and even though you are about 50 over S9 on the Rag Chewer's side, they
absolutely insist that since they have had their sked on this exact freq since
Marconi was a baby, well by golly... it's completely OK for them to carry on and
talk about how their hemorrhoids acting up... and that Mildred made a mess in
her Depends this morning... and that they ran out of their laxative and have to
go to the local drug store and get another box of suppositories...etc...and then
they pretend that they don't hear you! Something has got to be done about
these idiots.

Thanks again to WA3FET, NP4A and KP4ST...a HUGE thanks to Angel - WP3R and his
lovely wife Eva for their help and hospitality! You guys are the greatest....
and a perfect example of why this hobby is the best in the world! Gracias!!!

Paul K9PG

Note to Don.... shame on you OM!
