Comments:

Things went bad for me even before the start. The sound card voice keyer
refused to work with WriteLog to record messages so I was live audio the entire
test. So glad this is only a 10 Hr test! A few hours into the test, my new
Heil Pro Set Plus headset mic went bad with hum/buzz and I had to jury-rig the
Yaesu MD100 desk mic with a drinking glass to hold the mic in a comfortable
spot. What a sight that must have been. Does anyone else think that Yeasu had
their brains elsewhere when they designed the MD100 with such a short cord to
the rig?

I really envy you SO2R stations. With the rules in this test being what they
are, this is the only way to be competative in this test. I still struggle with
keeping a good rate during the early contest hours until the lower bands get
going. A 2R station would definitely be a plus during this time if one knows how
to use it effectively as many of you seem to be doing.

   Fred KG9X
